Adapted drops in with another exclusive, this time from Aussie producer Whitebear, and its a glorious affair of glitch!
With an affinity for objects coming to life and a growing desire to diversify his sound, 20-year old Arthur Song delves deep into new sonic territory. Infectiously tight glitches amass within rising waves of choral atmospheres, fueled forth by progressions of crunch-laden percussion. Coarse, granular bass tones awaken the potential of 'Facing the Mutant Microbe' as extrinsic synths phaser rapidly, signaling the presence of mutant forces. To which, equal forces exist to oppose.
As alien synths waver in growing anticipation, engaging atmospheres lie amongst intricate, spatial samples that zip and whir in rousing design. Crisp percussive foundations nourish deep lower frequencies into form, igniting 'Respect Your Machine'. Whitebear's ability to immerse listeners into depths of auditory expression, proving Foreign Beings to be an experience both danceable in nature and provocative in thought. |

Editor is back with a new release on Omelette, entitled Itchy Techtonics! The EP combines elements of the Hyphy Hip-hop and Dubstep with an organic dub and funk backbone, crafted into dance floor bangers for your DJing pleasure.
The first track, "What the Bleep" is a colossal Dubstep number with an 8bit twist. Backed up with some effectively crafted and topical vocal samples this tune is sure to get you jumping, so be prepared for a face warping bass drop. "Get Wavey" begins with a typically Snoop style melodic synth and 808 beat before crashing down like a tsunami enveloping all in its wake; the perfect tune to get “wavey” to on the dance floor.
The description is in the name for the closing track "Deadly Swagga". Sit back and chill out to Editor’s trademark dubs shining through once again, alongside a rattling sub bass line and watery samples taking you to a tropical glitch paradise. This release shows original style pushed to new boundaries whilst maintaining the unique qualities that put Editor on the map.

French label IOT Records is always releasing exciting new projects with a multi genre approach to bass music. Their latest project is a a new series of EPs entitled "The 333 series"!
The series reintroduces the concept of EP within the label. One output every 45 days for a total of 8 releases per year, based on a two track digital format and featuring an ultra limited edition vinyl (125 numbered copies in silkscreened cover and an artwork signed by Hep & Heng of Drops).
For this first installment, they call upon Uzul, a notorious French dub artist!
Colors unfolds a rocker backed by heavy skanks, the perfect accompaniment for a wobble bass served on a plateau and sprinkled with perfectly mastered reverb & FX. A track that is both rich and airy, as comfortable on a dance floor as in your living room. With Fiiyawork we move up a gear, and Uzul hires the talents of MC Ben Sharpa for an effective and unadorned collaboration. The jerky flow of the South African leads to a darker and louder production designed for crossover hungry dubsteppers.

Renowned Melbourne beat-smith and sound designer Spoonbill, aka Jim Moynihan, is back from inter-galactic scavenging with a new 3-track EP of tropical steampunk electronica: Astro Archipelago.
It's a hyper-catchy digital amalgam of brass, keys, harmonica and guitar doing dirty things with synths and bass to make you shake your booty. Astro Archipelago features Spoonbill’s playful signature cut-up sound, with a galaxy of funky melody pushed to the fore.
The album originated from Jim's work with interactive games lab Current Circus, making dynamic compositions for their groundbreaking new virtual reality game Beat Booster. Players move their whole bodies to control their avatar that in turn creates mad futuristic beatscapes. On Astro Archipelago Jim takes those same sounds and turns the equation on its head: it's his mad futuristic beatscapes making bodies move on dance floors across the world.
The album kicks off on a small tropical island - think hang drums, palm trees, lapping water and a growing sense of an interstellar voyage. The tune increases thrust, until the whole island blasts off into outer space with an ecstatic scream. From there it’s a journey to new worlds of future funk and crunky bass with more than a passing nod to the heyday of sci-fi funk FX.
It’s Jethro Tull reincarnated in the body of C3PO. It’s Jabba the Hutt’s band playing Burning Man. It’s a joyous and quirky intergalactic broadcast from the future of both music and game design.
Another wicked exclusive from one of Australia's premier labels - Omelette Records!
